Resident Achievements

We would like to congratulate ‘B’ from Monton House on coming off her DoLS legal framework, highlighting her development since coming to Next Steps and her steps towards further independence.

We would like to celebrate The Elms residents ‘J’ and ‘M’ for their motivation and volunteering to become champions within the home.

‘M’ has volunteered to become The Elms’ waste management champion, supporting staff with recycling and waste disposal. He has supported staff with creating a new waste management system that works well for both staff and residents and has been actively involved in maintaining this, keeping him active within the home. Well done, ‘M’!

‘J’ has volunteered to become The Elms’ student contact champion, supporting student inductions into the home, and offering further insight into The Elms from a resident’s perspective. ‘J’ previously was selectively mute and struggled to engage and build rapport with others, so this is a great accomplishment for him which demonstrates advancement in his confidence and social skills. ‘J’ and students both enjoy his involvement in this role, and he is known to make a great cup of tea too!
