The Elms is a 7-bedded male only residential home, which provides support for adult males who have complex mental and physical health needs and require support to stay functional and well in the community. We have access to a 24-hour RMN on call for advice within the organisation, and floating RMN support is available depending on individual need. We provide, monitor, supervise and co-ordinate care to the users of our service, to support them to reach their optimum physical, psychological, and social outcomes; whilst empowering them to become as independent as possible. We encourage our residents to improve their functioning and take a greater level of control of their own lives, by getting them actively involved in cooking, cleaning, house shopping and caring for our chickens! Residents are also supported to engage with local community link services including Best Choices and St Georges Day Centre, where they can access social groups, educational courses and paid and voluntary employment opportunities. The Elms is currently based in Bolton 10 minutes from the town centre, where residents have access to good transport links, a variety of cafes and restaurants, and the main high street is lined with a mix of national and independent shops, entertainment, and eateries. In the next 12 months, The Elms is planned to move to a new 8-bedded home within Bolton with larger spaces and better facilities.
